Bostik 3071 – Solvent-Free Spray Cork for Sound and Thermal Insulation
Bostik 3071 is a high-quality, one-component spray cork for sound and thermal insulation of connection joints. The tough-plastic and non-sagging sealant consists of cork granules and a solvent-free, elastic binder.
The numerous air-filled cells of the cork granules reduce heat and cold transfer and simultaneously provide effective sound insulation. This makes Bostik 3071 particularly suitable for connection areas on windows, doors, and partition walls.
Advantages
- Solvent-free
- Low odor
- Very good sound and thermal insulation
- One-component and ready to use
- Tough-plastic and non-sagging
- Easy to process from the foil pack
- Building material class B2 according to DIN 4102
Areas of Application
- Connection joints between window frames and masonry
- Connection areas on doors
- Joints on partition walls
- Sound insulation of component connections
- Thermal insulation in protected connection areas
- Further applications in the field of sound and thermal insulation
Suitable Substrates
The bonding surfaces must be firm, load-bearing, clean, dry, and free of grease and dust. The substrates must not contain bitumen or tar. For plastics and coated surfaces, adhesion and material compatibility should be checked beforehand.
Processing
- Thoroughly clean and prepare the substrate.
- If necessary, use a suitable primer.
- Apply Bostik 3071 into the joint with even pressure.
- Fill the joint completely and without voids.
- Immediately smooth the surface with a moistened tool.
- Use opened containers as soon as possible.
After complete curing, the spray cork should be sealed on the exterior and interior with a suitable elastic joint sealant and protected from direct weathering.
