Sika® Primer-3 N 250 ml – Reactive primer for porous and metallic substrates

The Sika® Primer-3 N is a one-component, solvent-based reactive primer for the professional pretreatment of substrates before the application of suitable Sika adhesives and sealants.

The primer was developed specifically for applications with Sikaflex®, SikaBond®, SikaHyflex® and Sikasil®. It is suitable for both porous and absorbent building materials and metallic substrates.

On absorbent substrates, Sika® Primer-3 N can be used on both dry and damp-dry surfaces. Thanks to its easy application and short flashing time, the primer is ideal for professional substrate preparation in jointing, bonding and sealing work.

Typical areas of application

Sika® Primer-3 N is used to pretreat suitable substrates before a compatible Sika adhesive or sealant is applied.

Suitable for Sika systems

The primer was developed specifically for use in conjunction with products from the following Sika product families:

• Sikaflex®
• SikaBond®
• SikaHyflex®
• Sikasil®

Before application, always check whether the primer is intended for the respective substrate and the adhesive or sealant to be used subsequently, according to the current Sika product data sheet.

Application

The substrate must be suitable for the intended application and prepared accordingly. Sika® Primer-3 N is applied evenly and sparingly to the surface to be treated. The primer must then flash off in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions before the respective adhesive or sealant is applied.

For optimal results, the specifications of the current Sika technical product data sheet regarding substrate preparation, application, flashing time and application temperature must be observed.

Consumption

Actual consumption depends on the absorbency and condition of the respective substrate. Due to higher absorbency, a higher material consumption than on non-porous surfaces should generally be expected on porous surfaces.
