Japanese Sawing Principle – Pull Cutting

TAJIMA Rapid-Pull saws cut mainly on the pull stroke of the saw blade. During the pull motion, the thin blade is tensioned and guided controllably through the material.

This allows the saw blade to be thinner than many classic European hand saws. This supports a narrow kerf, low material removal, and precise cutting results.

When pushing forward, only light pressure should be applied. The actual cutting performance comes from smooth and even pull movements.
