SikaBond-126 MaximumTack
Flexible, solvent-free STP construction and assembly adhesive with extreme initial adhesion for horizontal and vertical bonding, even of heavier components. The following description summarizes the most important manufacturer specifications from SIKA for selection and processing in a practical manner.
Advantages
- Extremely high initial adhesion and very good early strength
- Excellent adhesion to many substrates without primer
- Compatible with polystyrene foam
- Bonds immediately and reduces slipping
- Very short stringing and good hold
- Fast curing
- Compensates for substrate tolerances
- Good weather and aging resistance
- Solvent-free, odorless and non-corrosive
Applications
- Cable ducts and plastic elements
- Acoustic panels, window and door trim, as well as decorative trim
- Insulation materials
- Rigid PVC, GRP, wood, metal, ceramic, tiles, brick and concrete
Technical Data
- Chemical basis: 1K silane-terminated polymer (STP), moisture-curing
- Density: approx. 1.30 kg/l
- Shore A: approx. 53
- Operating temperature: -40 °C to +80 °C
- Curing approx. 3 mm/24 h
- Skin formation time approx. 10 min
- Shelf life: 12 months
- 300 ml cartridge = approx. 390 g; PU 12
- Manufacturer also lists 600 ml sausage pack; only ordered variants in this file
Certifications & Tests
- EMICODE EC1 – very low emissions
Processing & Substrate
- Prepare the substrate to be load-bearing, firm, clean and dry.
- Good adhesion without primer is possible on many substrates; for high stress or extreme weather, SIKA recommends suitable cleaners and primers.
- According to SIKA, one 300 ml cartridge with a 5 mm nozzle is sufficient for approximately 15 linear meters.
Notes / possible disadvantages
- Not permanently resistant to all chemicals; organic solvents, strong alkalis and acids can be problematic.
- Assess heavy or safety-relevant components structurally; despite high initial adhesion, temporary securing may be advisable depending on the application.
FAQ
Which variant is suitable?
Color and packaging are selected separately. For boxed goods, individual units, half PU and full PU are available, where provided.
Does it need to be primed?
This depends on SikaBond-126 MaximumTack, the substrate and the stress. The above notes and the current SIKA product data sheet are decisive.
Can I use the product outdoors?
Only to the extent that the respective application is approved by SIKA for outdoor use. The substrate, moisture, temperature and load are decisive.
What is important for storage and processing?
Store containers closed, dry and within the temperature limits specified by the manufacturer. Observe the product and safety data sheet before processing.
